Community Is the 2026 Buzzword That Actually Earned Its Place — Here’s How to Build One That Endures

Cape Town founders call it balance. The rest of the world calls it overachieving before 9am. ☕🌿

Yes — even the good rooms.

Attending one isn’t the same as belonging to one. Most
solopreneurs spend years collecting business cards and showing up to every panel, and still feel quietly disconnected.

The fix isn’t going to more events. It’s hosting one.

Eight people. One evening. One declarative invitation.

Full piece on the loneliness tax most founders are quietly paying — link in bio 👆

Written wearing my @murdermysteryguide hat. The cure involves a fake homicide and eight people you want to build with. Trust us 🕯️🔪

Why am I posting photos from a Founders Café Friday netwalk I didn’t even attend?

Because life happens.

This morning, someone drove into the back of my car on the way to the Alphen Trail 😅 But before I could even properly stress about it, Rory Brachner was already stepping in to save the day.

And honestly… it reinforced something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately:

Building things that don’t depend entirely on me.

If Founders Café is going to grow sustainably, it has to become bigger than one person organising every detail or leading every walk. Today was proof that we’re building the kind of community where people genuinely show up for each other.

What a privilege to build with good people.

Now I’m mostly wondering… who else should I rope into leading future netwalks? 👀☕️
